GIG WORK
Powder Rentals Mural
Concept:An oversize piece of original artwork. Instead of the traditional mural route I decided to make a triptych of 6' x 4' aluminum panels to allow for the piece to be moved, re-merchandised and maintained by simply wiping clean. The linework on the aluminum panels is a oversized vinyl decal of my drawing. The piece comes off the wall 1". The piece includes a ski-tourer, a skier, and a snowboarder... the sporting equipment you can rent at Powder Rentals. Adventure Quencher: Hut Trip and Show
Concept:Four friends, and artists of different mediums, and one incredible chef, took a trip to the Hazel Hut and produce a gallery show from the inspiration gained. The Hut is located in the North Slocan, between New Denver, BC, and Kaslo, BC. The original intention was to ski tour and include more alpine scenes, but High-Extreme avalanche hazard kept us in the valley bottom, snowing shoeing and reveling in hut life. The show, in turn, was very much a tribute to the Kootenay's old growth forests. Gnorm the Gnome: Revelstoke Mountain Resort
Concept: The OG Gnorm concept originally started by my husband Troy Leahey, the founding Avalanche forecaster of Revelstoke Mountain Resort. He wanted something in his new weather plot webcam so the public could gauge the snow depth. My sister, Lindsay Craig, found him at a foreclosed house she was helping a friend clean to sell. She gave him to Troy and I and I re-painted to look more like a ski patroller. He long reigned as the ruler of the weather plot until one day he was stolen from his post, leaving only his little booties behind. After a short “vacation”, but...
