Groundbreaking Discovery of Prehistoric Ski Art at Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Revelstoke, BC.
The ancient cave paintings have been described by experts as, “the first known depiction of prehistoric ski culture” and seem to date all the way back to 2007 A.D.
Early analysis of the artwork suggests the cave paintings depict scenes of Bro-Magnons (an elusive skiing sub-species of early Homo Sapien).
“It’s clear that ancient humans had figured out a way to get to the top of the mountain,” said Dr. Slaypow, a leading expert in prehistoric skiing. “The find includes several scenes of these “Bro-Magnons” (or possibly “Homo Shrederectus,” historians aren’t quite sure) in what appear to be early forms of ski lift transportation with very little regard for safety protocols.
Skeptical archeologists at the Smithsonian Institute, when approached for comment, simply said: “We have no idea what you’re talking about.”
ROAM (Revelstoke Outdoor Art Movement) urges the public to respect the discovery, as the expert team of ski historians, archeologists, and professional powder skiers continue to study the findings.
